Reservoir Dogs

Guild Charter

Who We Are
Reservoir Dogs is an Alliance guild located on the Azuremyst server.

Our goal is to provide a solid, family-friendly social guild for all players. Members of Reservoir Dogs are encouraged at all times to bring suggestions to the guild leadership on how to improve the guild in any way possible.

We are not a hardcore raiding guild. We are a guild of mature (emotionally, if not also age-wise) players who are interested in questing, socializing, running instances or heroics regularly, PVPing, or just hanging out and having fun together while understanding that real life takes precedence over the game.

For us WoW is a recreation. It is not our job. It is not some form of athletics. It is a game we love, and we do not wish to sacrifice our love of the game for the sake of loot or progression. We believe that people are more important than purples.

We are not a leveling guild. Members of the guild are expected to level their alts and mains for the express purpose of remaining in the guild and being helpful and productive members of our community.

What We Are Looking For
Quite simply, we are looking for people with whom we can socialize and have fun, people who want to be a part of our family. Our primary concern is that prospective members enjoy themselves and are a good fit with our existing community.

Do you have good attitude?

Are you mature and friendly?

Are you willing to help out with quests and run instances big and small, old or new?

Do you try to play your class well, or want to learn to play your class better?

Are you willing to abide by the rules of the guild and help build a better community?

If so, then we are interested in you. Gear and skill will come with time, but behavior and attitude are the most important factors to one’s admission into our community.

Our Code of Conduct
We are a guild of emotionally mature adults.  All of the following are basic rules of conduct that we know you follow, but would like to spell them out as a gentle reminder of things that can cause drama and hurt the community feeling that we want our guild to have.

As a reminder, you are expected to treat others with courtesy and respect, no matter what the rank, level, prior experience, age, sex, talent build, time in guild, education or demonstrated ability as a player the person may demonstrate.

When talking in guild chat, avoid the topics of religion, politics, sexual orientation, race and gender relations, and other social issues over which people tend to have strongly held viewpoints. If such a topic does begin and begins to get out of hand or tempers flare, expect an Officer to whisper all participants to request the conversation be dropped or moved to a private chat channel. Please do not take personal offense at being whispered to drop one of these topics in general chat, as it is being done for the good of the community.

Condescending or disrespectful remarks, insults, and harassment are never acceptable.

Tone of voice does not translate well into typed chat.  Never assume that joking around with or insulting other members, especially ones that you do not have a long history of chatting with, will be taken as a joke. Jokes on the edge of taste may not be appreciated the way you expected. Please remember that joking and harassment between long-time friends may be harmless, but can make other guild members uncomfortable in raids or heroics.

The final decision of whether behavior is offensive rests with the person the behavior was directed towards.

Drama is not acceptable. If a member has any personal issues with other players, disputes with another member, another player in the game, or any loot disputes, the member should immediately contact an Officer or Co-Leader and inform them of the issue. Steps will then be taken by an Officer or Co-Leader to mediate the issue and attempt to come to a mutually satisfactory conclusion.

Alt Policy
Reservoir Dogs has a limit of 4 active characters total in the guild. If you have another character you wish to bring into the guild, we ask that, if you are at the maximum, you rotate one of your currently guilded characters out in order to make room.

Multi-Person Accounts
Occasionally, you might like to have a roommate, spouse, parent, or child log into your account to play or chat. The person playing needs to announce in guild chat that he or she is not the normal player so there is no confusion. All actions taken by your character are considered taken by you, regardless of who is actually playing your character.

Sharing accounts with your friends and family will prevent you from holding any rank that has unrestricted access to the guild bank. This rule is in place so that the community feels safer in regards to any donations made to the guild bank, to make sure that the materials many have worked so hard for aren’t lost or stolen.  All materials in the guild bank are considered available to any player at or above Member rank, to help them level reputation, professions or gear.

Pick-Up Groups (PuGs)
Whenever possible, it is always preferable to ask guild members first if anyone would like to go on an instance, heroic, or raid run before pugging spots. This keeps skills sharp, and makes sure that upgrades come home where they can do the guild the most good. Please do not repeatedly spam guild chat with requests for a group.  If you post a request for a group, and no one responds to your first message, wait until more members have logged on before asking again. We view pugs as an excellent way to find and evaluate prospective new members; if you repeatedly pug with someone and feel that he or she would be a good fit for our community, please encourage him or her to contact an Officer or Co-Leader.

Dual Membership
We are a tight-knit, family-oriented guild, and involvement with such a guild requires a basic level of commitment. While not unacceptable, membership in both Reservoir Dogs and other guilds on the server is strongly discouraged. Inevitably, membership in multiple guilds leads to scheduling conflicts, unavailability, and personal conflicts that negatively impact the community.

Extended Absences
If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please notify an Officer or Co-Leader by in-game mail or personal conversation. Because we are a social guild, there is no requirement to be online at any particular time as we know real life comes first.  However, because relationships develop over time, we will likely become concerned if a player suddenly disappears for a long period of time without warning.  It would help everyone to know that you are okay and just dealing with real life.

Players in the guild who have not logged in and/or have not had interaction with members of the guild during the past 30 days and have not informed a Co-Leader that they would be gone for an extended period prior to their absence will be demoted to Inactive status.

Once a player has been inactive for 3 months, he or she will be removed from the community.

“Kickable” Offenses
Reservoir Dogs has worked very hard to maintain a good reputation on the server, and the actions of our guild members reflect on us as a whole. Allegations by guildies or puggers of ninja looting and other objectionable activities (stalking, harassment, node jumping, etc.) will be treated very seriously and will be investigated by an Officer or Co-Leader. If definitive proof of intentional ninjaing or other objectionable actions is found, that member will be removed from the guild, and the Azuremyst community will be warned of his or her actions in general chat and the realm forums.

Structure, Ranks and Leadership
The membership structure of Reservoir Dogs is designed to best serve the guild for clarity of leadership/organization and player support.

  • Co-Leaders: Hedwig/Bellatricks & Matheo/Anake/Rovanian
Co-guild leaders of Reservoir Dogs with all powers and responsibilities available. They have the ultimate responsibility for overall management, direction and administration of the guild.

  • Officers/Officer Alts
This group consists of trusted and long-time members of Reservoir Dogs. Officers can be asked to withdraw items from the guild bank for other players, add alts to the guild, and add events to the guild calendar. Item requests as always should be sent via in-game mail to Hedwig or Matheo if there is no particular time concern or if online Officers are not available for withdrawals.

  • Members
This group consists of full members of the guild community.

Players of this rank are considered full, active and highly welcome members of the guild and have all the rights granted by that membership, including participation in all events, equal loot rights with everyone else in any raids that occur, and the ability to withdraw any items from the guild bank, for their main or alts, at any time without reservation, so long as it is for personal use and there is no other competition for the items at that time.

  • Initiate
This group consists of recently invited members of the guild. This level has no bank access. Players of this rank are expected to show that they want to be a part of the guild, and should be friendly to others in the guild. They do not have to do favors for other members, and they do not have to run instances or participate in activities that they are not interested in. However, the more active Initiates are in chatting with others or participating in activities, the better the rest of the guild will get to know them, and the more welcome they will feel.

Initiates should expect to remain at this rank for at least two weeks. The Initiate period will end at the discretion of the Co-Leaders and the Officers.  Sometimes during this period a player may decide the guild is not right for them, or the Co-Leaders (in consultation with Officers) may decide they are not right for our community.  No offense is meant either way, and there will be no hard feelings if someone decides the guild is not right for him or her. This is a community, and not everyone will be a good fit. They can still be good players, good people, and good friends to the guild.

  • Inactive
Players in the guild who have not logged in and/or have not had interaction with members of the guild during the past 30 days and have not informed a Guild Leader that they would be gone for an extended period prior to their absence.  Players at this rank are not eligible for participation in any event and do not have the ability to request items from the guild bank until a discussion has been had with the Guild Leaders and change of rank has occurred.  Once a player has been inactive for 3 months, they will be removed from the community. If you intend to take an extended leave of absence, simply inform any Guild Leader by email in the Guild Forums or by in game mail or personal conversation, and you will easily avoid this.

Loot Policy in Instances
No member of the group should loot a boss until all characters are alive and in range to receive their portion of the gold.

Any non-quest Bind-On-Equip loot item (“greenies”) will be rolled for by all members of the group.

For Bind-On-Pickup (BoP) Rare or Epic (Blue or Purple) items, please Pass if it is not an upgrade for you.  If the item is an upgrade, feel free to notify the party that you intend to Need roll for it. Be mindful that a slight upgrade for you may be a more useful upgrade for another member of the party, so please feel free to ask and discuss before clicking Need or Greed.

If Initiates participate in any raids or heroics, any loot that drops will be offered to Members and above first, unless those individuals agree it should go to an Initiate instead.

Cloth, leather, mail, and plate armor will be offered first to the respective classes that rely on that type of armor, and then to classes for whom these items might be a stat upgrade but an armor downgrade (Ex: a cloth belt for a druid healer, DPS mail for a paladin, etc.)

If no one needs the item as an upgrade, it will be sharded by an enchanter. The shard will either be rolled on or placed in the guild bank, depending on the consensus of the party. If no enchanter is present, the group will Greed roll for the item to vendor.

Rare or Epic (Blue or Purple) BoE items that drop should be Greed rolled by everyone in the group.  If you request and receive a Rare or Epic BoE item as an upgrade, you will be expected to equip it immediately. You will be inspected by the Group Leader to make sure the item is equipped. That way everyone can see that the item is being used and not sold, and there is absolutely no opportunity for drama. If the item is intended as an alt upgrade, please Greed roll for the item and feel free to negotiate with the winner for sale or trade of the item after the run.

BoE class-specific items (tomes, books, librams, etc.) will be Greed rolled, but guild members who have no personal use for them are highly encouraged to donate these items to the guild bank for use by other members.

Loot Policy in Raids
No member of the raid should loot a boss until all characters are alive and in range to receive their portion of the gold.

The Loot Master will link all items in raid chat prior to distribution and will open the discussion by asking which individuals are interested in a specific item.

If no one needs the item as an upgrade, the group will have it sharded by an enchanter. The shard will then either be rolled for or placed in the guild bank, depending on the consensus of the party. If no enchanter is present, the group will Greed roll for the item to vendor.

Raiding
We hope to continue to offer raiding events for those who wish to participate. At no time, however, will any member of the guild be forced or pressured into attending a raid or any other event.

However, if a member signs up for an event, he or she is expected to attend, and to notify the Raid Leader or an Officer in advance if he or she is unable to attend, or can attend only for a limited amount of time.

Because of the level of organization needed to be successful on these events, members participating in raids and heroics must meet and follow the requirements listed below:

·         You need to know how to behave in a group, at least try to know how to play your class (or be willing to learn or accept suggestions), and be able to follow instructions given by the Raid/Group Leader.

·         It is suggested that guild members install and run the following addons:

o    Deadly Boss Mods

o    Omen

·         All raiding players must log into Ventrilo and use it during the raid event, if only to listen. Microphones are not required, but due to the nature of raids and heroics, the ability to listen to and act on instructions quickly is essential.

·         It is suggested that all level 80 players have and are able to use a Heavy Frostweave Bandage. Sometimes the main tank needs all heals, and other players will be responsible for bandaging and surviving without assistance from the healers.

·         All players with abilities that require reagents should have an adequate supply before the event begins.

·         All players should make sure their gear is at 100% durability before the event begins.

·         All players are expected to know what consumables (foods, elixirs, potions, flasks, etc.) they will require, and to bring an adequate supply and use them for at least boss encounters, if not the whole event.

Raid Attendance
Invites for the event will begin no later than 15 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin.

Players in the raid group are expected to physically be at the assigned location of the event 10 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin, unless you have checked with the Raid Leader in advance and confirmed a summons will be performed for you.

Raid Execution
The Raid Leader is the person in charge of the event. The Raid Leader is encouraged to listen to suggestions from members of the event and, if he or she is unsure of a particular situation, should ask for advice. The Raid Leader may or may not also be the Loot Master for the event; he or she may choose to delegate that task to another raid member.

The Raid Leader’s duties include:

·         Determining which player will be the Main Tank/Main Healer for the event. It is the Raid Leader’s discretion to allow players of the appropriate class to work this out amongst themselves.

·         Determining which player may “pull” for each encounter during the event.

·         Determining which players are to receive a Soulstone.

·         Determining priority for Divine Intervention casting.

·         Determining which players are to receive or use combat resurrections (Rebirth, Reincarnation) and at which times.

Please remember that Raid Leader is a position of responsibility and some stress and therefore deserves an appropriate amount of respect.

Damage/Healing Meters
We understand that players are often concerned with the amount of damage or healing they are doing, especially when they have recently upgraded gear or armor, or adjusted their spec.  However, meters can also be used in negative, competitive, and elitist ways that cause unnecessary drama. Therefore, meters should never be posted in raid or party chat. Players are encouraged to run and maintain their own meters and to release that data to others in whispers, and only when requested.
